1/3 cup vegetable shortening
Grease bottom of 9 x 5-inch loaf pan. In large bowl, cream shortening and sugar together until fluffy. Mix in eggs, vanilla extract, and banana flavor until well combined. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg. Add bananas to sugar mixture; mix well. Stir in nuts. Pour into pan, bake at 350 degrees (F) for 45 to 50 minutes or until done. Cool in pan on rack 5 minutes. Turn out of pan and cool on rack.
