2 cups all-purpose flour
Mix flour, baking powder, soda, and salt. Cream butter, add sugar gradually and cream until fluffy. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well after each addition. Blend in vanilla extract. Add the sifted ingredients alternately with sour cream to butter mixture, mixing just enough after each addition to keep batter smooth.
Spread half of the batter in a greased 9 inch square pan and sprinkle with half of the topping. Spread remaining batter carefully over top and sprinkle with the remaining topping. Bake in a preheated oven at 350 degrees (F) for about 30 minutes or until done. Cool 5 minutes and remove cake from pan. Serve warm.
Combine ingredients. Sprinkle over cake as per directions.
